Pinterest Friday Numero Seis

It’s been a great week on Pinterest.  Maybe it’s the cooler weather or that it’s been raining all over the south, so what else do people have to do but pin cute things to their boards.

My first fave is this incredibly clever way to use the bottom of plastic soda bottles.  Really, the people at iDIY got all of the creativity.

I’ve already explored this next one!  It’s a list of 50 great apps for kids from babble.com.  I bought three of them for Levi and there are a dozen more I want to look into.  I don’t know about you, but I’m always looking for good app recommendations.

I’ve got one board on Pinterest that I call, “things I my girls might want to make.”  This is a great one I pinned this week from Second Sister.

For my recipe I was going to show you this chocolate cake that my friend Leslie pinned…

I thought I would try to actually make it and tell you all how great it was.  I went over to Delectable Deliciousness and made a list of ingredients.  I then realized that I would have to spend about $20 on things I don’t normally keep in the kitchen so decided to save it for another time.  Maybe I’ll test it for you later in the month.

Instead I’ve got to show you these adorable little cheese pumpkins from Texas Cottage.  Oh my goodness!  Aren’t they the cutest things?

My words for the week hit me as soon as I read them.  This is so me….which you would know if you ever sat next to me at a funeral.  I tend to giggle at the worst times.

Before I go I want to clear up a pin from last week’s Pinterest Friday.  I showed you a beautiful porch but I didn’t have the link.  I want to thank Kristen for letting me know it is from Savvy City Farmer.  She has a gorgeous porch and an incredible home.  Here’s another view of the deliciousness.

If you want a Pinterest invite let me know.  I’ll be happy to send you one.

Happy pinning!

  1. See you can do it! You’ve made it all the way to numero seis without a hitch!! Before we know it weeks siete, ocho, and nueve will be here.
Now about the cake… I think you have some repenting to do! Umm hmmm… tempting us all like that. (psst…so what all do you need for this cake? coffee, espresso powder, bittersweet chocolate? let me know and i’ll share with you. seriously!)
Off to enjoy our weekend of glorious fall temperatures and “gentle” breezes watching high school football and marching band competitions! 🙂 Its our eldest last regular season game…. I am so not ready for graduation.

  2. Me! Me! Pick me! I’ve recently joined this obsession, er, …. addiction, er, …. pastime. Love it! So much better than printing out things that I want to do or see or places to go. Love it!

  3. Peggy, I had to look up the Spanish numbers on the internet. Thanks for setting me up for the next three! 🙂 And yes, all of those ingredients are in that cake. I’ll make it soon, I promise.

Celia, you’re so funny. I will send you a Pinterest invite pronto!

    Lisa~

  4. That cake looks so yummy! I’m addicted to pinterest; its interfering with my nightly blog reading. So many ideas, so little time. I’m still unpacking the disaster zone over here. Wish you were closer to Montgomery, I’d love to get your opinion on some ideas I have for decorating. My husband doesn’t share my enthusiasm for stenciling numbers on the stair risers;)

  5. Well, I put it off and put it off, but now that I’m in my second trimester I’m ready for some inspiration for decorating projects. Would you please send me an invitation!
    Thank you!

  6. I’m baffled by Pinterest. I’ve never seen it but my daughter has tried to explain it to me. It still makes no sense to me, though my daughter’s explanation skills, and lack of, may have something to do with that..

I, sadly, and embarrassingly, tend to laugh at very serious times too. Sometimes, we can laugh about my (less-than-appropriate) giggles after the event. Sometimes, it’s just never funny… like when my husband’s father was killed in a road accident. I laughed when they told me. Obviously it wasn’t cos I found it funny. Clearly, I have a problem :/

  7. Hahaha! That quote is soooooo me . . . AND my mother! I must’ve gotten that way from her!

We are the type who people glare at wakes, memorial services and funerals. We are sitting there, dying inside, TRYing to suppress, TRYing to keep quiet, but we’re chuckling at memories of the person lying there in the casket now. That uncle or other relative or friend was so funny and made us laugh, and we can’t suppress it! Many others present are bawling for their loss, and Mother and I are giggling and laughing– until we cry, too, of course.

I dunno. Maybe that’s not such a bad way to be after all.

  8. Went to a cup cake decorating thing at a church on Saturday night- I now know how to pipe icing, so I spent Sunday arvo pinning cupcakes.

  9. That first craft with the plastic soda bottles is amazing!! And, if you should need a test-taster when you make that chocolate cake, just let me know! 😉
