Homeschool Mom Q & A

My friend Becky sent me a list of questions.  She wondered about how I stay organized and scheduled.  She has an amazing organizing blog, so I’m not sure why she’s slummin’ it with me, but I answered her questions.  It was actually fun to think about how I do things and why I do them.

I was getting some pictures ready for her and I couldn’t decide.  Do I show the perfect, fairy tale version or the sloppy, worst day version?  It reminded me of the old Goofus and Gallant cartoon.  Remember?  From the Highlight magazines in the doctor’s office when we were kids?  Goofus always did the wrong thing and Gallant always did right.

So I decided to make my own homeschool version.  Goofus Mom and Gallant Mom.

  1. This is a fun post – both yours and hers!

Great information – yes children can obey and be happy!

I took a nap today – I feel like I need one every day now….

  2. Loved this post. Made me smile–chuckle even!

We just bought a house which needs paint on every visible surface, so I will be perusing all your decorating pix to get inspiration for colors. I am totally clueless when it comes to knowing what color to put on my walls. aack! Maybe I’ll just blow up pictures of your rooms and paste them on mine. sigh.

  3. Oh my…this is too funny. I think I may have had a Goofus moment or two and we are only in the first week of school:). You do need to publish a book! I just love your posts…so full of fun and humor. I feel blessed that I found you…you are such an encouragement.

  4. how do you think of this stuff?????!!!! Love it. I’m happy to say most days I am in the middle with a leaning toward Gallant. Except for the hammock thing, and then I am totally Goofus. Monopoly is way overrated anyway.

I’m linking to this today girl! Good stuff!

  5. What a wonderful read! This was my first visit to your site, so I took some extra time to browse through your earlier entries. I’m so glad I did that. You’ve created a great place for your readers to visit and I really enjoyed the time I spent here. I’ll definitely be back. I hope you have a wonderful day. Blessings…Mary

  9. I’m totally stealing your idea (on Becky’s blog) of having the five o’clock march through the house. What a FUN way to teach my little kids that each thing needs to be in its place!
