I’m a Finalist!

by Lisa on July 15, 2011

Now I know what it would feel like to be Miss Texas in the Miss America pageant.  You work and you work, climbing from one level to the next, friends being eliminated along the way until finally it’s between you and two other girls.  You love them both, but you want to cream them in the competition.

I want that crown!  Oh wait, there’s no crown?  Oh sorry.  I’m OK.

My project this week was the Nature Luncheon.

The nature theme really stumped me.  I don’t do a lot with nature.  I’m more of a man-made material kind of person.  I wandered around the craft store pushing my creativity to the limit looking for ideas.  When I saw the sheets of moss I thought they’d make interesting placemats and off I went with the nature tablescape.  It hit me that I could use our beautiful brown and blue chicken eggs for placemarkers and that was it.

I was just so grateful that I finally had an idea.  I don’t like to have to think that much.

I did make it through this week and now comes the final challenge.  It’s a good one.  I can’t wait for you all to see what I’ve been making!

I’ll be back begging for your votes one last time on Monday morning.

And if I win, I will wear a crown and a burlap sash around my house for a week.

What a cute idea…a burlap sash :) I love that. Your tablescape was awesome, moss place mats, I’ll have to give that one a try.

You don’t need a crown or sash to look like a queen!
