Bird Pillow Love

I know, dumb title.  But what else could I use?  I made a pillow that I love and it has a bird on it so “Bird Pillow Love” was all I could think of.  So maybe my creativity doesn’t flow to my blog titles.

After I changed the frame in my living room, I needed a new pillow for my couch and I wanted it to be springy and cheerful.  So…..

Matthew 6:26, “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?”

This verse reminds me that I am valuable to God, even when I don’t feel like it.  I just had to put the words on the pillow to remind me every day.

I’ve listed them in my etsy shop in case you need one too.  You’ll be impressed with the name I gave it, “Scripture Bird Pillow.”  Really, I amaze myself sometimes.

I used the money my parents gave me for my birthday to buy the ruffled pillow at Pier 1.  I know I could have made it, but those ruffles are a pain.  So I treated myself.

I think I’ll call it, “The Ruffle Pillow.”

Have a great weekend!

  1. What a beauty! And I love the title because it makes me think there’s one smidgen of similarity in our abilities, because I just might have come up with that title.

As for the rest….. nope, I most certainly couldn’t have come up with that cushion. That is stunning x

  2. Your title making skills only rival my own~ I adore that pillow. That is one of my favorite verses. I went through a really hard time in my 20’s and someone came and prayed that with me daily until I believed it. Blessings to you, Bev

  3. I have never made one thing creative in my life–well, except a song. (Or two.) And I’m also pretty good at making a pretty bow for a package. And garnishing food.

    Um. But that’s about it.

So I’m always inspired (and refreshed) to come by your blog and behold what bit of beauty you’ve plucked from nowhere, created from nothing, and then set down in your house. People like you (and your family) make me smile. (I came from a family of six kids so I can definitely relate to a big-ish clan.)

Blessings on you (and your bird pillow),
    Becky

  4. oh yeah, those ruffles ARE a pain. uh-huh. that’s all I’m gonna say about that.
I DO love the bird scripture pillow (or is it scripture bird pillow?)

  5. Thanks Jennifer…now you’ve got me stuck on your version of the Beatles song….yeah, yeah, yeah.

  6. Oh, P.S. – Did you see the video for “Put a bird on it”? Mama Hen had it up on her blog not so long ago. It was really funny.

And sorry about the Beatles song. It could be worse, though.

  7. Okay – I actually love the title! It’s succinct, leaves no room for ambiguity or innuendo – and unlike the sentence I just typed none of the words has to be spell checked! What more could we ask for!

It is a beautiful pillow and that verse is one we all need to be reminded of from time to time.

Hmm . . . . the only thing that I don’t get is the ruffled pillow – surely you could have whipped that up in an hour or less! 😀 Seriously, if you had told me you just threw it together in an afternoon, I would have completely believed it! It looks so sweet next to yours – although I would wonder about the number of wrinkles it would leave on my cheek if (when) I napped!
