San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival

Many of you know that Grace and Jacob both entered movies in the festival this year.  We heard last Friday that Grace’s movie was not chosen as a semi-finalist and will not be played at the festival.  This was a disappointment, but we are not going to let her beautiful film go to waste.  We have big plans for it!

The good news is that Jacob’s movie IS a semi-finalist!  He worked really hard on this film and we are delighted for him.  His movie, Tentacle Reef, is an animated short film about an adorable little octopus and how he learns to trust his mother’s wisdom, his mother with nine children.

No, I did not write the script for this movie.  I didn’t even suggest it.  I might have impressed it upon him every night when he was an infant, but I am sure that has nothing to do with it.

The Trailer:

Ohhhhh, doesn’t that make you want to see the movie?  What happens to the little octopus?  Does the big, green, scary eel get him?  Where is his mother?   Is she really wise or does she just write blogs and drink Diet Dr Pepper all day?

You’ll have to see the movie to find out.

If you can’t make it to the film festival in October then you will be able to purchase it after the festival.  We’ll keep you updated on that!

  2. Yea, Jacob! It seems graduation years are big for movie makers in the Festival. Am I remembering correctly that Grace had one in the finals the year she graduated?

They really are talented. I love to see people using their talents for God’s glory.

The strides Jacob has made in the last two years of his film study are quite impressive.

  3. Oooohhh… the poor little octopus! Wow that is fancy animation! What computer program does he use? I would be much abliged because I have been looking to make something like this. I would be no competition to Jacob because I am an amatuer. I hope that he does well!

    God bless, Mimi

  4. Jacob,
Can not wait to see more! Please share with us how you do in the semi-finals!
    Congratulations!
