What I Wore

I’m joining the “What I Wore Wednesdays” party because I have gotten so many questions from my post on modesty.  Many of you wrote asking what I wear that is modest but still stylish and fun.  I also have the added challenge of being a plus sized girl….I can’t shop everywhere like you skinnies can.

This is some of what I wore for the past week.  I didn’t do anything different than I normally would.  This is just the way I dress.  I am, of course, showing you my shoes from each day.  Because let’s be honest….isn’t it really all about the shoes anyway?

I don’t say where I got things because most of it is from previous years or flea markets.  These store carry a good selection of plus sized clothing: Macy’s, Dillards, Lane Bryant, Cato.

Friday: running errands in town

necklace – Faith made it for me with keys and twine

Shoes: Rocket Dogs

Saturday: Shopping with my girls

While this is a pant, I only wear it with a top that is really long

necklace – My “Mom of 9” necklace from Shop 24

shoes – BØrn

Sunday: Staying home and working on my Etsy shop, reading with the kids and planning for the week.

By the way, this nail polish looks a lot more brown than it does in person.  It is actually just a teeny bit browner than my skin, so it’s more subtle.

Tuesday: A homeschool meeting and grocery shopping

necklace: Faith and I made it with old watches

shoes: BØrn.  These are some of my favorites, but be warned, they are so hard to buckle that I have to pay a kid a quarter to do it for me

That’s all I got folks.  I only remembered to take pictures four days last week.  I don’t know if I’ll do it again.  I don’t know if you all are interested in what I am wearing, but it was fun to show you this once.  🙂

  1. You are stylin’ 🙂

I love your favourite sandals too and the part about paying a quarter to have them done up made me laugh.

I dress modestly too, because that’s how I feel most comfortable.

  2. Jenni, you’re so funny! Innsbruck Bronze baby!

Thanks for the compliments my friends. You made my day! Lisa~

  3. Cherie, you have to say that because you are my dear friend and you were there when I bought some of these things and gave me your stamp of approval. LOL! Lisa~

  4. LOVE LOVE LOVE the purple top, gauchos are awesome….so comfy, ADORE the watch necklace, and my favorite shoes are the black ones with toe loop. You always look great!!!!

    Hugs,
    🙂 Heather

  5. How fun! Not sure what it is about What I wore posts that I love so much but I do each and every one. I guess it is like getting to see all your blog friends in person or something 🙂 Outfits 1 & 2 are my favorites, you’re right stylish & modest all at the same time. I also think it is hilarious that I have both pairs of shoes you are wearing in outfits 1 & 2. Slightly different – my Rocket Dogs are polka dots instead of floral and my leather sandals are lighter brown .. but same nonetheless. Thanks for sharing & I love the hay you picked up for the Fall Festival! (with Kellie) can’t wait to celebrate with her either.

  6. Now you got me all distracted. I went and looked at 10 different blogs and what they wore. You know what cracks me up is that everyday I think I look cute…then Michael will look at me and say “are you wearing what you wore to bed last night?” Um, I’m just trying to save time, Sweetie.

  8. Kellie took the words right out of my mouth, but we knew she would. You are just beautiful in purple, your skin just glows in it. I love your watch necklace that you made it is so cute. But most of all I love getting to see your smiling face, and a bit of the silly side of your personality coming out, makes me want to drive to Texas and give you a big hug.

  12. You look great! Very modest, stylish and your personality shows through! My favorite is the Sunday purple top and white skirt!

Thanks for sharing this with us all!

  13. Love these pics! I’m beginning to rethink modesty and femininity. Now I’m not a skinny gal, so I don’t wear daisy dukes or cleavage-bearing outfits (plus I have not-so-pretty chest scar from the heart surgeries) but I’ve been running across more and more blogs that show how you can be feminine and cute. So YES, do this again! 🙂

  14. You are just a cutie and the girls have done some beautiful jewelry making!
I’m with you on all counts…modesty, plus size, stylish, fun…and then add to that having to wear dress clothes…including hose and dress shoes….6 …make that SIX days a week….yikes!!!
    I’m enjoying your blog!
