The A Game

We have different little games we play with each of the kids. A private joke, a game of pretend, something silly we only do with them.

They all need some special attention sometimes.

This one has an amusement that keeps us in stitches…..

I will send him over to Daddy’s office to deliver something.

“Here, take this mail to Daddy for me”

A few minutes later he’ll come back to me…..”Daddy said thank you. He will open it and if there’s any money he will use it to buy something for himself.”

The game has begun.

“What?!” I exclaim in horror, “We need that money! Please go tell Daddy that he has to save the money or we won’t have any food!”

He runs away giggling. He is the messenger and he LOVES it.

He returns panting and grinning….”Daddy says that he will use it to buy you a Star Trek DVD for Valentine’s Day, hee-hee-hee-snort.”

I wish you could see the grin. It’s priceless. And the more shocked I act the more thrilled he is.

“Oh no! I don’t like to watch Star Trek! WHY would he buy me that for Valentine’s Day?!?!?!?!?! Please go tell him I am crying and crying because I don’t want to watch Star Trek.”

More running and lots more giggling.

Back again…..”Daddy says you will like it because you can sit by him and he will put his arm around you at the movie.”

He could play it for hours. Running between Mom and Dad and having them all to himself. I hear that Daddy lets him help with the ideas of what to say to Mommy. He loves to shock me.

Little boys are the best, aren’t they?

So easy to please.

But seriously…..I’m not really getting Star Trek for Valentine’s Day……am I?
