Small Gifts

As the weather gets chilly and the Christmas lights on the porch shine their soft glow through my bedroom window….I start to feel ready for the holidays.

We don’t do much in the way of gifts. The kids get a stocking and sometimes (not this year) we get them a group gift. This year, since money has been tight, the Lord has provided some sweet things for their stockings. What a delight to see what God would give them when I step aside and let Him bless us.

Just today I got a package from a friend in California full of figurines that my 15 year old daughter collects. This friend noticed, during a visit here, that my daughter collects Beatrix Potter figurines. She’d been wanting to clean out her house, so she sent me a bunch of them. It was so sweet. Thanks *S*, for your generosity. My daughter will LOVE them!

Another friend gave me a couple of old Nancy Drew books. My 14 year old adores Nancy Drew. How fun it will be to see her pull them out of her stocking on Christmas morning.

My aunt gives the kids school supplies and another friend gave me an address book that my 19 year old will love. She has so many pen pals and it will be fun for her to have a book with all of their addresses.

God is so good. He gave His son for us and now, in such a small way He continues to show His love for us by providing little gifts for our kids for Christmas.

Now, does anyone have any gift ideas for an 18 year old boy? If I could come up with a gift for him….that would be a real Christmas miracle!
