World Travels

OK, so maybe not WORLD travels. But when you are a Texan you pretty much think there’s nothing interesting to see north of Dallas or west of El Paso.

So I’m going to Houston tomorrow. Yesterday I was in Austin. I might just make it all the way around the world and take the kids to Corpus Christi next week.

My Grateful friend and I are going to the Texas Homeschool Coalition Convention (try saying THAT five times fast!). It’s a whirlwind of seminars, shopping and fellowshipping with some of my friends and family. And did I mention the shopping?!

Books, curricula, books, art supplies, books, audio books, DVDs, and more books….all enticing me with their information, story telling, clean pages and unbroken bindings.

My challenge is to wear shoes that won’t hurt my feet but are still adorable, take food that will keep my energies up but still be yummy, not hurt my already injured shoulder but carry tons of books around and not go into debt but buy everything I want. That sounds do-able, right?

Since DUH will be leaving for his first week of law school the same day I return from Houston, I will be spending as much time as I can with him today. There’ll be lots of gazing into each other’s eyes and huggy-kissy stuff and me asking for more money to take to the conference….romantic things like that.

World traveling is fun….especially when you can drive it in four hours!
